Before ACE, I was under the impression that the only way to become an architect was to go to architecture school. That isn’t the case. The skills and principles I will learn by studying civil engineering will prepare me to further my education in architecture at the graduate level. I want to understand the composition of different structures and materials before I start designing buildings. My dream is to be a licensed architect. By studying civil engineering in college, I will not only be a knowledgeable architect but also an architect who applies the principles she learned in undergraduate school to a graduate degree.
