2022 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER | Oliwia Pine

Congratulations, Oliwia!

Oliwia is a 2017 ACE alumna. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Architecture from Community College of Philadelphia, after which she transferred to Drexel University to continue my education. During this time, she has worked as a Lighting Designer at The Lighting Practice, where she gained very valuable work experience and had the opportunity to see architecture from a different perspective. This allowed her to explore a different design path related to architecture, gain on-site experience, and have design responsibility. Through maintaining ACE connections, she was offered a position in an architecture firm. She is incredibly honored to hold a Technical Designer position at Nelson Worldwide, where she works alongside two of her ACE mentors.

In my senior year of high school, I joined the ACE Mentor Program’s first all-female team. ACE has exposed me to various architectural and construction related fields, taught me the basics of architectural design, and most importantly, allowed me to network with inspiring professionals in the field. ACE was a wonderful opportunity to learn what an architectural office looks like and the way it works. After graduating, I was compelled to pursue a degree and a career in the built industry. The ACE Mentor program also made it possible for me to continue my education by awarding me the annual scholarship. I have stayed in touch with the mentors from the program and joined any events in order to gain exposure and network. Today, I work alongside two of my mentors from the ACE team in the Nelson office. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for what the program has done for me on my career path.
